Sketches from the Barents Sea

Ink on paper.

During the time of working on a film essay in the Barents Region, these sketches and time-scores were part of my site-reading process, helping to form a more personal and direct connection with the places where I was filming. These sketches were not made to be a part of a film, but were the making of memories. The memories are usually formed around an event, even though the remembered fragments could be of a different sort, such as sounds, textures, colors and the like. Making these drawing in itself was an event, a form of engagement.
